In 2024, CyArk traveled to Fujairah to document the Fujairah Fort, the surrounding historic village, and the Husn Madhab archaeological site. During this visit, CyArk also provided a workshop to the Department of Tourism and Antiquities, sharing expertise in digital documentation and heritage preservation. This collaboration highlighted Fujairah's commitment to preserving its cultural heritage and provided the tools necessary for local teams to continue safeguarding the emirate's historical sites.
Fujairah is a coastal emirate located in the eastern part of the UAE, bordered by the Gulf of Oman and the Hajar Mountains. Known for its strategic location and rugged beauty, Fujairah is rich in history and natural landscapes. The emirate has been historically significant due to its role as a defensive stronghold, as evidenced by its iconic Fujairah Fort. The area is also home to traditional villages, where life centered around agriculture, fishing, and artisanal crafts like pottery and weaving. Fujairah continues to celebrate its cultural heritage while embracing modern development, making it a unique destination that blends the old with the new.
