Sloan Canyon

CyArk and the Bureau of Land Management Red Rock/Sloan Canyon Field Office in Nevada have collaborated with the Chemehuevi Indian Tribe and the Las Vegas Paiute Tribe to digitally document Petroglyph Canyon part of Sloan Canyon National Conservation Area to create a freely available immersive virtual experience. The Tapestry experience highlights descendant communities' unique connections to Sloan Canyon and how people can respectfully engage with cultural heritage in the area. Through this experience, virtual visitors can view some of the hundreds of examples of rock writing in the canyon and hear from Southern Paiute community members about their connections to the landscape.
