CyArk helps reach and engage new audiences with stories that celebrate our cultural heritage.
We develop virtual experiences for web and mobile with our platform Tapestry as well as immersive experiences for a variety of virtual reality platforms.
What is Tapestry?
Tapestry turns your site, exhibition, or landscape into a guided 3D experience that audiences can explore from anywhere. Starting with a high-quality 3D representation that preserves the scale, surfaces, and detail of the real place, we build a narrative journey through it.
As visitors move through the experience, narration, local voices, expert perspectives, photographs, video, maps, and archival materials bring the story into focus. The result is more than a 3D model: it is an immersive, interpretive experience woven from five layers, including a photoreal 3D canvas, a structured narrative, human voices, rich media, and interactive moments.
It all runs in a web browser with nothing to download or install, so visitors can explore on a phone, tablet, or computer, wherever they are. And Tapestry works for stories at every scale, from expansive landscapes and archaeological sites to historic homes, museum exhibitions, and individual objects.
Share your place with anyone with an internet connection, whether they are at home, in a classroom, at your visitor center, or across the world. Tapestry extends your reach far beyond the constraints of in-person visitation.
Inspire Visitation
A vivid online experience sparks curiosity rather than replacing a visit. In our evaluations, 83% of Tapestry users expressed increased interest in visiting the real place.
Support Education
Give teachers a ready-made virtual field trip that can be used before a visit, after one, or as a standalone classroom experience, bringing history and culture to life for students anywhere.
Unlock the Archive
Surface the photographs, documents, and recordings in your collection, and let visitors explore them in context, connected to the places and stories they belong to.
Engage Local Communities
Engage communities connected to a place as partners in telling its story. Tapestry provides a digital space to share multiple perspectives and amplify underrepresented history.
How We Work
A Collaborative Process, from First Idea to Launch
Tapestry is built with you, not handed off to you. We guide the process from first idea to launch, with your team involved where your knowledge, priorities, and review matter most:
1
Kickoff
We begin by aligning on your audience, your interpretive goals, and the scope of the project.
2
Story Development
Together we choose the themes, locations, voices, and source material at the heart of the experience, mapping the narrative onto the physical layout of the site.
3
Capture & Recording
CyArk's field teams document your site in 3D using LiDAR and photogrammetry, and record the interviews, narration, and media the story needs.
4
Production
We build the experience, weaving the 3D model, scenes, voices, media, and interactive moments together into a single guided journey.
5
Review
Your team reviews everything and helps us get the accuracy, tone, and interpretation right through an iterative, collaborative process.
6
Publish
We host, share, and embed the finished experience wherever your audience will find it. After launch, partners receive regular reports on visitation and engagement.
Platform
Everything You Need to Publish and Share
Fully Hosted
Tapestry runs in the cloud. No servers to run, no software to maintain, and no technical overhead for your team. Just your story, ready to share.
Accessible
Built to support accessibility standards, including WCAG and Section 508. From screen reader compatibility to high contrast mode, we are striving to ensure that all users can engage with these places and their stories.
Multilingual
Offer the experience in more than one language to reach a wider audience. All components of a Tapestry, including the user interface and narration, can be produced and accessed in an alternate language.
Analytics
See how visitors find, move through, and engage with your experience, with reporting that helps you understand your audience and demonstrate impact.
Custom Calls to Action
Point visitors toward a donation, a visit, a newsletter, or related content, right from within the experience.
Your Brand, Your Way
Embed Tapestry seamlessly into your existing website with one link that works on any modern browser, and decide how the experience looks: public, private, embedded, or fully white-labeled.
