The International council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) has an international committee dedicated to the documentation of cultural heritage; named CIPA (the International Committee for Documentation of Cultural Heritage), it was created in collaboration with the International Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ISPRS).

CIPA hold regular symposiums and meetings. Most of the papers and publications are available online for free via their website. The papers cover a wide range of topics within the broad subject of heritage documentation, including photography, photogrammetry, panoramic photography, LiDAR, terrestrial laser scanning, underwater survey, and GIS. Their papers/publication section is a truly valuable resource for any researcher.
